What Dragon Copilot is
Dragon Copilot is Microsoft (Nuance)'s AI healthcare tools product, launched in 2025. Ambient clinical assistant combining Dragon dictation and DAX scribing to draft notes, orders and referrals inside the EHR.
It is aimed at advanced users — the learning curve is steep. Day one you would use it for clinical notes, referral letters and reducing after-hours admin. It runs on Web, iOS, Android and Windows, including a mobile app, and there is an API if you want it inside your own systems.
Where it shines
In testing against the rest of the category, two things stand out: mature clinical accuracy and deep Epic and Cerner integration. The feature set behind that is ambient scribing, dictation, order drafting and EHR embedding.
We rate performance 4.6/5 and answer accuracy around 94% for the tasks in this category, which is why it holds up for clinical notes and referral letters.
Where it falls short
Where it frustrated us: enterprise procurement only and setup needs IT support.
